We have many clients who are finally able to get their Covid delayed procedures done, or have had test results requiring new procedures. Knees, hips, biopsies, moles, shoulders and feet. Oh my!
Being such a timely topic, post-surgical support will be the focus for our quarterly professional Bridging® learning event next week. The case study being discussed follows a client over the first three weeks post-op from her knee replacement. (photo shows day 13 and Day 17)

How can Bridging help your post-op recovery?

How? The tiny movements we use allow the micro-vasculature to re-establish their network. This microscopic capillary and lymphatic system is crucial for bringing in nutrients to heal, and taking away the damaged cellular waste.

What timing is best?
There are distinct phases of help for post-operative support. (photo shows before/after swelling change of 3.5 weeks post-scoped knee.)
- Week 1: restore adjacent movement better support the traumatized zone.
- Week 2-6: Reintegrate subtle multi-directional movement. Clear compensatory movements.
- Week 6+: Reintegrate complex movement to the traumatized area, and begin to increase resistance/strength.
